The fair began modestly, with local publishers and libraries from the liberated areas showcasing a selected collection of books. Over time, the scope of the event expanded to include international publishers, drawing a broader audience that included researchers, artists, and families

The 2022 fair marked a turning point, with the addition of seminars and poetry readings, and a more structured organizational framework comprising multiple committees. By 2023, the Idlib Book Fair had transformed from a mere book exhibition into a comprehensive cultural experience, featuring 75,000 titles covering a wide array of topics.
